The bars/restaurants on Broadway attract the most tourists, so that would probably be your best bet. 2nd Avenue is pretty happening, too. Good luck

About moving to Nashville TN in a month, where should I live

Moving to Nashville TN in a month, where should I live?
I might be moving to Nashville for work and would be working downtown. What's a good area to live in. I'm single, 28 and looking to buy something in six mos to a year once I figure out the area so don't want to spend too much on rent, maybe up to $700. I would like the commute to be within 20 mins. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... I should say that I'm coming from Washington DC so traffic can't really be any worse than it is here.

Answer 1 :
just a little warning about nashville...........can you say "traffic nightmare"?
Answer 2 :
Hm.. avoid living in Green Hills, Brentwood, Belle Meade, or Mount Juliet. These places are the most expensive to live in, and the people in them are generally rude. Try Old Hickory, Hermitage, or Donelson. That guy is right about the traffic. It's horrible, and the roads are constantly being worked on, so they're always down to only a lane or two at a time. A lot people in Nashville also have extreme road rage coupled with general ignorance.

Moving from Australia to Nashville (looking for 6months plus solid bar work)?? Where to go?
Moving to Nashvill for 8-12 months. Looking for a job in a bar. Have a lot of experiance. Would like to work somewhere fast paced, that has a good country crowd, and live music. Does anybdy knows a place in Nashville that hires people from Australia, or somewhere where they always need staff? Thank you

Answer 1 :
you may have to ask in >Travel >United States for a a local in Nashville to give you a answer that will help you
Answer 2 :
If you are not a US citizen, do you have a visa that allows you to work in the US? Unless you have that, no one can hire you. If you have the proper visa, then look at www.tennessean.com for the online classified ads which have job listings. To be a bartender or server of alcohol you will also need a server license from the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission. To get the license, you need to complete an approved course. See http://www.tennessee.gov/abc/ for more info.
Answer 3 :
Johanna, you need to be asking this in Travel - USA - Nashville. Unless you have the appropriate paperwork. There is no way you would be hired legally. The same goes with us up here in Canada, we have a lot in water wanting to work the sky resorts. No can do.

what is the age minimum to work in walmart in Nashville Tennessee?

Answer 1 :
walmart, eh? first off, i advise you to check out sites that complain about it's employment. there's been numerous cases of discrimination, employees being under paid, sexisim, [etc] all over the country. wakeupwalmart.com is a good place for finding that information. however with that being said! the walmarts in WA, you have to be 18 in order to work there. i dont know, but, i believe walmart's policy is the same everywhere. BUT! you could try looking online, of course. haha.

About is Nashville a good place to live and work

Is Nashville a good place to live and work?
I'm a married african american male who work as a nursing assistant and have career goals to make it as a songwriter/producer. My wife and I are planning to relocate from Rochester, NY (near Buffalo). How is living in Nashville?

Answer 1 :
Nashville's a wonderful city. It's pretty clean and the people are friendly. You can almost normally find a job in what particularly interests you. If you want to be a songwriter/producer, I would suggest Memphis, TN, though. Nashville may be the home of Country Music, but not many hopefuls come from there. Memphis is a better place if you want to be a songwriter- they're more open to it. The reason not many hopefuls come from Nashville is because there are already several country music stars that moved to Nashville (Keith Urban, Kellie Pickler, Tim McGraw, etc) so they want more proffessionals working in Nashville. Memphis, though, has open arms.
Answer 2 :
Nashville is cool but i want to put Memphis on your mind moved here from South Carolina and loving it

About what should I major in if I want to work for a record label in nashville one day

what should I major in if I want to work for a record label in nashville one day?
When i'm in college I plan on getting an internship at a record label in nashville and one day I want to work for a record label in Nashville but i'm not sure what I should major in to get me prepared for that job. The problem is I don't want to be a music major because I don't want to PLAY music I just want to work in the music business because that is what i'm good at and passionate about. Any advice?
Other - Music - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
you can major in music bussiness or audio engineering
Answer 2 :
in general you don't need a degree for anything in the music industry if you know the right people. the biggest thing is to get a foot in the door somewhere and to meet people and network. schooling isn't always the way to do this because of the money you end up spending on something that doesn't matter. you may be able to get an internship at a label and major in something totally different. then you can stay at the studio, or pursue something with your degree. the music business is hard to get into. going to school wont promise you anything at all in this industry. a good well rounded degree is communications. there are also options for music business and things like that, but it limits you in the long run if the music business doesn't work out. if you're trying to get into the industry to make a lot of money, chances are you wont make much at all. at least not for a while. i would try to get into the label without school. if you get your foot in the door, a degree wont mean anything unless you leave the music business. good luck

what is the closest American League Baseball park to Nashville, TN?
I am going to be working in Nashville for 3 months this summer and would love to catch a Red Sox game on the road. Who is the closest team to Nashville that they would play?

Answer 1 :
Not sure...Cleveland?
Answer 2 :
The Closet is Chicago's US cellular field is closer to Nashville then Tropicana Field in Tampa/St. Pete. Root for the PALE HOSE
Answer 3 :
Chicago is the closest. Cleveland, KC and Detroit are less than 100 miles further away than Chicago.
Answer 4 :
Bad place to be if you want to go to an American League team's games. The closest is 471 miles away, the Chicago White Sox. Cleveland has the Indians 522 miles away. But if you're going to be there all summer, why write off the National League? They play the Braves in Atlanta from June 26th-28th. And it's easily the shortest drive, at 246 miles.
Answer 5 :
You left out Cincinnat. Thats closer than Cleveland.

About should I move to Nashville for the summer

Should I move to Nashville for the summer?
I'm 19 and have the opportunity to live and work in Nashville for the summer. I'm from the Cincinnati area, and go to school in Milwaukee, so if I go for the summer, I wouldn't know a single person and would be giving up the chance to hang out with friends and family at home (who I only get to see during Christmas and Spring Break). That being said, Nashville, I've heard, is a great city, and since I have free room and board and a great job opportunity, should I take it? and if so, any tips on meeting people?
Other - United States - 3 Answers

Answer 1 :
No.
Answer 2 :
You should move to Wisconsin.
Answer 3 :
I think it sounds like a great opportunity to have new experiences and meet new people. I love Nashville- I live about 2 hours away and randomly go there for weekend trips. I had a similar opportunity when I was 20 but home and school were in Virginia and the summer job was in Thousand Oaks, California. I don't regret it one bit. I met some really cool people and got to see a lot of awesome things. Take every opportunity you can when you are young! Doing something like that will only do good things :) If I hadn't have don't that I would probably still be in my shell a little bit and been to scared to take a job halfway across the country when I graduated. The whole experience for me def helped me grow and become more independent. Make friends with the people you work with- they should know the area and the best places to make more friends and where the fun stuff to do is :) Good Luck!

About what are SAFE cities in Tennessee near Nashville

What are SAFE cities in Tennessee near Nashville?
If I want to work in Nashville but I don't want to live in the city (because of crime, etc.) what is a good suburb of Nashville that is safe?
Other - United States - 2 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Every community is required to file crime statistics with the FBI ... you can view statistics for major cities, but smaller communities won't be listed. Your property insurance agent can answer this. They do insurance rates based on the risks of a place ... how often to homes get broken into, what kinds of cars stolen the most, rate of arson, all kinds of crimes that relate to what they insure.
Answer 2 :
If you want to live in Davidson County (and don't have a fortune), look at the communities of Belle Meade, Sylvan Park, Green Hills and (parts of) Hermitage. If you are willing to commute from the outlying suburbs, Williamson County - Brentwood, Franklin, Cool Springs - is by far the nicest area in which to live (also the most expensive), Wilson County - Mt Juliet, Lebanon, Old Hickory - is developing nicely, still has resonable home prices and a descent commute time.
